Custom Pools Built
for Central Texas
Rockrose Pools & Restorations designs and builds custom concrete pools and spas throughout Central Texas. We work with homeowners, builders, landscape architects, and designers to create pools that complement the architecture, property, and way you want to live outdoors.
The Rockrose Difference
A Better-Built Pool Starts With What You Can't See.
A finished pool can hide a lot. The quality of the structure, plumbing, steel, equipment, drainage, and installation matters just as much as the tile and finish you see when the project is complete.
Rockrose was built around doing those things correctly—not finding the fastest or cheapest way to get a pool in the ground.
01 — The owner is the builder.
You're not handed from a salesperson to a project manager managing dozens of jobs. The owner is directly involved in every Rockrose project, from planning through construction and completion.
02 — We use trades we know and trust.
We work with experienced engineers and trades who have been part of our team for years. They know our standards, understand how we expect a pool to be built, and stand behind their work. That continuity matters—because a pool is only as good as the people responsible for every step of its construction.
03 — We don't rush what shouldn't be rushed.
We’re not interested in winning a race to build the fastest pool. We use more reinforcing steel than required, our concrete supplier stands behind the mix we use, and give the pool shell the time and hydration it needs to properly cure before moving on to finishes. We build efficiently, but never at the expense of the finished product.
04 — Design and construction aren't separate conversations.
The pool needs to work technically, but it also needs to relate correctly to the house, elevations, outdoor spaces, landscpaing, sightlines, and intended use. We consider those relationships from the beginning, rather than treating design as a shape that simply fits within the available space.
Our Process
A new pool takes planning and vision. Purpose, style, and features are all key components to creating the perfect space for you and your family. We’ll help you think through all the elements you’ll need to bring your ideas together into space you’ll enjoy for years to come.
-
We meet at your property to understand the site and what you want the pool to accomplish. We’ll evaluate the relationship to the home, elevations, access, existing and planned outdoor spaces, views, sun exposure, privacy, and potential construction challenges.
If you’re building a new home, we can also begin from architectural plans before the site is ready.
-
We develop the pool in 3D so you can understand its scale, placement, elevations, materials, and relationship to the home before construction begins. We refine the design with you until the major decisions are resolved.
If your project already includes a landscape architect, architect, builder, or designer, we’re happy to work within that team. We can build from an existing pool design or collaborate on the technical development and construction details needed to bring it to life.
-
Once the design is established, we prepare a detailed project proposal outling the pool, spa, equipment, finishes, features, and associated construction scope. You’ll be able to see where your investment is going and make informed decisions about optional features or upgrades before construction begins.
-
Once required approvals and permitting are complete, we lay out the pool on site and prepare for excavation. From that point forward, construction follows a deliberate sequence. Some phases move quickly; others require time. We don’t compress sturctural or curing stages simply to advertise a shorter construction schedule.
Construction Phases
-
Before excavation, we lay out the pool on the property so its placement can be confirmed in the field. Excavation time varies with pool size, access, soil, and rock conditions.
-
The pool's reinforcing-steel structure is installed according to the engineered design and Rockrose construction standards. We use more reinforcing steel than minimum requirements because this is not where we believe in economizing.Plumbing, circulation, electrical, lighting, equipment connections, and planned water features are then roughed in before the concrete shell is installed.
Next, we add the plumbing infrastructure. This step involves installing pipes for water circulation, filtration, and drainage. Careful planning ensures optimal water flow, prevents leaks, and supports additional features like waterfalls or spas. We use high-quality, durable materials to guarantee long-term performance.
Finally, we integrate the electrical components. This includes wiring for pool lighting, pumps, heaters, and automation systems. -
The concrete shell is one of the most consequential stages of the entire project. Our concrete mix comes from a supplier that stands behind its product, and the shell is installed around the steel structure to create the permanent structure of the pool.
Once installed, concrete needs time and hydration to develop strength properly. We allow the shell to cure for a minimum of 21 days before beginning tile and masonry. That curing period isn't downtime, and it isn't a schedule delay. It's part of building a concrete pool correctly.
-
After the shell has properly cured, waterline tile, coping, masonry, and other finish materials begin to give the pool its finished architectural character. Material selections are coordinated with the home and surrounding outdoor spaces rather than treated as isolated pool finishes.
-
Decking and surrounding surfaces are installed according to the project scope, whether that includes concrete, natural stone, pavers, turf, or a combination of materials. Drainage, transitions, elevations, and connections to existing outdoor spaces are considered as part of the installation.
-
The selected interior finish is applied and the pool is filled. Once full, professional startup begins so water chemistry can be established and the new finish can cure under properly managed conditions.
-
Once startup is complete, we'll walk you through your equipment, automation, basic operation, and pool care so you understand the system you're taking ownership of. Ongoing professional maintenance is also available.
What Determines the Cost of a Custom Pool?
No two Rockrose Pools have the same scope. Size matters, but it’s only one part of the investment. Site access, excavation conditions, engineering, elevations, spa configuration, decking, masonry, equipment, automation, water features, lighting, and finish selections can all materially affect project cost.
Our proposals are developed around the actual design and property rather than a packaged pool model. That allows us to show you what is included and make design or scope decisions before construction begins.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Common Questions
How long does it take to build a custom concrete pool?
Construction time varies by design, site conditions, permitting, weather, material availability, and project scope. Rockrose does not promise artificially short build schedules because certain construction stages—particularly concrete curing—require time.
Why does Rockrose wait at least 21 days after the pool shell is installed?
Concrete develops strength through curing, which requires both time and appropriate hydration. We allow a minimum 21-day curing period before beginning tile and masonry rather than compressing this stage to shorten the schedule.
Do you build fiberglass pools?
No. Rockrose specializes in custom concrete pools and spas.
Can Rockrose work with my landscape architect or architect?
Yes. We regularly collaborate with landscape architects, architects, builders, and designers. We can develop the pool design with your team or construct a pool that has already been incorporated into a larger landscape or architectural plan.
When should I start planning a pool for a new home?
Ideally, early. Reviewing the pool alongside the home and site plan allows us to consider elevations, access, utilities, drainage, outdoor living areas, and landscaping before those decisions become more difficult or expensive to change. We often build pools during the home building process. We know how to stay out of your builder’s way while still progressing the project so the pool is completed when the home is ready to move in.
